Sometimes customer service can fix a bad experience, but not always. Jewelry is another category where quality can be very different from photos. If the first order is a disaster, I prefer to move on and not waste time with support. From my experience, communication with the store can tell you a lot. Nobody wants pretty shoes that hurt after ten minutes of walking. Of course we all have different taste, but patterns still appear in long discussions.
If anyone is interested in real user experiences, I sometimes write short notes about the shops I test.

If a website gives a detailed guide for measurements, I feel more confident when ordering. I also check if the store explains how to measure PD and frame size clearly. Sometimes one good quality item is better than five very cheap ones. Loose hinges make the glasses slide down the nose again and again. Trendy pieces are fun, but I only buy them when the price is reasonable.
Maybe this is useful for someone. |
